Our dress code is “funky formal”

We’d love you to have fun with your outfits and embrace the dress code! Think bold colours, sequins, feathers, statement pieces, and anything fun, glamorous, and a little different. Kilts are obviously very welcome too!

Most events will be indoors, so feel free to dress up and go all out. The ceremony will take place in a heated church, but as it will be winter, we recommend bringing a warm coat or something cosy for travelling between the church and castle.

Guests arriving on Friday are welcome to check in from 3pm onwards, with accommodation ready from this time.

Our wedding ceremony will begin at 1:30pm in the beautiful St Palladius.

We kindly ask all guests to arrive at the castle by 12:30pm, where you'll be welcomed with a drink before the celebrations begin.

From there, you'll be guided down to the church in time for the ceremony, with transport provided between the castle and the church.

Travel to and from the venue will need to be arranged separately by guests. There is ample parking available on-site for all guests.

For guests travelling by train, we recommend continuing on to Stonehaven Station rather than getting off at Laurencekirk.

We've been advised that taxis are very limited in Laurencekirk, whereas there is greater taxi availability in Stonehaven, making onward travel to the castle much easier.

We recommend booking your taxi in advance where possible to ensure a smooth and stress-free journey.

Yes, parking is available for all guests on site.

All food and drinks will be provided throughout the wedding weekend, so there's no need to worry about catering for yourselves.

Your accommodation also includes a breakfast package, typically consisting of bacon, sausages, eggs, bread, milk, juice, tea and coffee.

You'll also have access to kitchen facilities within your accommodation, so please feel free to bring along any additional food, snacks or refreshments you'd like to enjoy throughout your stay.
